Summary: The Story starts off with 19 year old Nana in her little town. She is a high matenence, oblivious kind of girl who falls in love with every guy she seesXD Her first lover was a handsome middle aged business man who was married, but she got too involved, hurt and left him. The next year she goes to a comunity college art school with her best friend Junko (with the main idea of finding guysXD). While there she attemps a normal guy-girl "friendship," but they eventually fall in love with each other. The next year they apply for colleges in Tokyo... all her friends get accepted accept her boyfriend and Nana, but her boyfriend decides to stay in Tokyo. They start of long distance relationship and after a year Nana has saved up enough money to move to Tokyo with him.
She rushes over to live with him the day she learns he gets accepted into college. That night she takes a Train to Tokyo and ends up sitting to another girl that Happens to have the Name nana as well. (This would be a fate changing meeting). She lives with him for a few days, but feels she's a bother to him so decides to become and "independent woman" and looks for her own house and job. When she goes to veiw her first house the other Nana happens to be veiwing it too, and because they already know each other and there's 2 rooms they decide to share it and split the cost.
Now for the story of the other Nana~ When she was 4 her mother abbondoned her with her grandmother. Because the grandmother didn't want Nana to turn out to be a slut she prohibited her from wearing red or pink so men would not be tempted by her. She grew up a lonely life, untill the day her grandmother died. She went out and bought a red dress and her one high school friend went to a punk concert together. Nana ends up becoming the lead vocalist in the punk band BLAST and falls in love with the lead bass guitarist Ren.
She moves in with him, gets the same peircings, and even a tattoo of a ren (lotus) on her arm. After about a year though Ren gets on offer from another band Trapnest, to join them in Tokyo. He asks her to go with him, but she's too stuborn so he leaves with both of them regretting it. A few months later She decides to live life by her music, and that she'll become a famous vocalist in Tokyo. So she sets off and on the same train meets another Nana who she will live with.
Basically this show is like an animated soap operaXD Crazy relationships and cheating and Drama(with a lot of music) The begginging is pretty slow, but as the series progresses it gets better and better. The Drama and slight comedy join together really well, and I all the characters are well done^.^
I usually prefer humor "slice of life" over drama~ but this one is well done, and I highly recomend it^.^
