Katsucon 2007 End Game

Ok...time for some feedback.  What did you all think of Katsucon 2007 and the club's time spent there?

I had a great time hanging out all weekend.  I would say it was alot easier than last year being at the actual hotel.  My room was by far the best.  Obviously parking could have been seen as a concern but I got no real complaints.  Thanks all.

Wow...what an ASTOUNDING INCITEFUL review. =P
Seriously...what went right?  What went wrong?  Would you want to go again?  Details, man! ;)

I try.

On a scale of 1 - 100, I would rate the overall value of the trip as an 88. Only negative points I would mention would be the whole 10:00am/Card fiasco (which I was only partially responsible for...). You should have gathered the cards earlier like 8:00am to 9:00am so they'd be centralized and we'd know exactly where they were. Aside from that I'd say everything else went smoothly. As to whether I'd go again, that would be "affirmative". On a side note The merchants room was lacking for one of my caliber.

I guess I should have taken the cards earlier, oh well.

uhh, Eric...That would be Mike. =P
And I couldn't get the cards at 8 or 9 a.m....no one else was awake...and how can you get back into your rooms to get your stuff to pack in the cars if I have the cards...?  I was up at 6:30a.m....you could have dropped off your card, you know. ;)  Not saying you should have, just saying you could have.

We generally set the car packing time to about 10a.m. so that people get a chance to sleep in.  I know a lot of people like to go the rave the night before, and I'm reluctant to make drivers drive on only a couple hours of sleep.  Maybe next year you can drive. ;)

I'm glad you had a good overall, though.  The dealers room was a bit of a disappointment for a lot of people from what I hear.  The only anime I bought there was older stuff that was cheap that I'd been meaning to pick up for a while.  Despite popular belief, I actually like to buy m anime when I can afford it.  It just doesn't happen very often...

Oh it was Mike who's Centacorallstar... never would have guessed.

So it was his responsiblity to retrieve our room's cards? I didnt mean to place the blame on anyone if thats what it seemed like, its simply that with it having been the last day and all, we probably should have had the cards centralized (aka in Ashley's room) and issued them in those final hours on a simple basis of actual usage. Since if you look back on the purpose of the card with me and kevin at 8:00am to 10:00am it served little value other then allowing us entrance to our room. Which if Ashley is up at 6:30am, it would have been just as convient to retrieve the card directly from Ashely if it was needed. Also considering how I doubt the rooms were completely empty at any point during the final hours of Sunday, having the cards on us would have little purpose therefore since someone would always be in the room.

it doesnt matter at this point but it indeed may in the future...

... assuming the club doesnt dissolve within mere minutes following Ashely's exchange of power.

LOL - The rooms would have been empty if I hadn't stopped people from going to the con in order to get the cars packed up. ;)

...And now I am no longer in charge of Katsucon, except to get it ready for the next person to take over.  So the comments aren't really for me, they're for the next prez. ^.^

I am glad there is a positive outlook for the future.  My suggestion would be that the room leaders try and collect keys early on sunday to turn in all keys at once.  Then again if katsucon proves to be too much a hassle then other options may be looked at.  c'est la vie
