Shakugan no Shana ( 24 eps, 1 OVA, 2 special "chibi" episodes (*I think), and an announced 2nd seasons)

Genres: Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Romance, Supernatural

My grades:
Animation: 9/10
Characters: 7/10
Story: 7/10

Summary:

The story starts off with Yuji on his first normal day of highschool. His life is normal, but he's happy. One day he's walking out home and out of no where the world freezes and some gigantic baby monster starts eating people... He is clearly shocked.

Before it has the chance to kill him he is saved by a young girl with flaming red hair and a sword who does some serious slicing. Apparantly he and the people around him were attacked by monsters called "Tomogara" which feed of of humans "power of exsistence." When people are eaten not only do they die, but they are completely forgotten. Those whose souls were eaten are replaced with "torches" which is like a human battery for their exsistence to slowly dissapear and keep balance in the world.

She explains to Yuji, the reason he wasn't frozen in time was because already a torch, a special torch or Mystis that has special powers. Yuji is a little shocked discovering that infact the real Yuji has been dead a long time though.

She also explains that she is a being called a "Flame Haze", who's soul purpose is to keep balance in the world and destroy the Tomogara.

The rest of the story centers around Yuji finding his path in life and Shana the Flame haze finding her path.

The fighting is decent, but the bad guys never have a developped plot, which stinks because some of them are actually interesting...

Really the story focuses too much on the "love" between Yuji and Shana that develops, and it doesn't really do a good job at that even.

This is one of those "OK" anime~
Not anywhere near legendary but bearable and some interesting moments~
Its just not very origenal~
If any ones seen Fate/Stay Night It reminds me alot of that.
