SUmmary: The story starts out at a cheap, drafy, old, tokyo appartment complex where a bunch of art students in college reside. Their group consists of the sophmore Takemoto, Morita... on his second try at a senior year, he failed the year before because he kept sleeping in, and then the more responsible senior Mayama. The three of them are like family.
Takemoto came to the college with no real goal in mind, he had just convinced himself that he was good with his hands, and that he'd become...something, but as he'll end up having problems later discovering what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
Morita is... in the simplest words crazy, but unbeleivably gifted (when he's not sleeping). Morita often dissapears for days and comes back home with a pocket full of tons of money, but no one knows what his job isXD THe real question is with all this tallent will he ever graduate in the 8 year time limit (he's on his 6th yearXD)
Mayama: For the last year he had a part time job helping a women who had been in a car accident get around with her job because she had hurt her leg. He eventually falls in love with her, but she's an older woman, and her husband had also died in the car crash. He also has to deal with one of his classmates who is madly in love with him, and he doesn't want to crush.
That year they're introduced to their proffesor's neice, Hagu, the projigy artist, who is a freshman. She's also unbeleivably shy and isn't good at talking with people. Takemoto and Morita fall in love with her instantly though they take different methods of approaching her. Morita's "love" is expressed by forcing her to be his model that he makes carry around huge leaves or dresses up as a mouse. He constantly chasing her and it seems more like torturing her. Takemoto on the other hand just acts like her friend, and at first is one of the only people she's comfortable with.
There are basically two main stories, one that revolves around Hagu, and one that revolves around their other room mate Mayama who graduates from college.
The story covers 4 years (I think...). The series is "romance" but if anything its more depressing with the occasional funny momentXD It takes a while to get into the story line because it drags a little bit (but I may have felt that just because I was watching 4 other anime at the same time...). Its two season, the first is 24 episodes, and the second is 12. There Is also a live action movie, although I haven't seen it~
Pros: Sweet story, good animation once you get used to the girls eyes that look like they were made with water paints..., The characters all grow on you (luv MoritaXD), and the first opening is great with random spinning platesXD
Bad points: Slow plot progression, Hagu, the main girl is in college but looks like a 9 year oldXD It took a while to convince myself otherwise~
