We can watch Battle Royale which is filled with violence and gore with real life people, but we can't watch Berserk which contains ANIMATED violence and gore between animated characters.
Personally I don't see Berserk, at least the first couple episodes as being that much of a gorefest, so I agree to that degree, but naturally Berserk as a whole is definately NOT club friendly.
It's mostly a "well, I have to draw the line somewhere." We've actually been warned that a 14 year old girl might have an interest in joining our club. And if she had shown up on Monday, we would not have been watching Battle Royale. Also, as you recall, I asked club members about the content of BR...since I had never seen it. If I had seen it, perhaps I woulnd't have let the club see it. =P (I'm not telling.)
No hypocrisy involved.
