My Grades: Story: 5/10 Characters: 6/10 Animation: 8/10
Summary: The story revolves around Ichimura Tetsunosuke, a 15 year old short kid in 1800's Japan. His parents had been assasinated right in front of his eyes, and he wishes to take revenge by becoming a member of the Shinsengumi. He does manage to join in when some of the captains are impressed by his spirit, and they give him a "gofor" type jobsXD
The story is about him becoming a stronger man, who is able to overcome the emotional scars of his parent's murder, and become a warrior. There's also the side plot of him accidently becoming friends with his sworn enemie's apprentice, who is also out for revengeXD And the main character falling in love with a mute girl.
Although having a slightly interesting summary, most of the episodes felt like torture to watch. Despite being an anime about samurai, there's hardly any fighting till the end of the show. Most of the show the main character moping, getting ticked off, or cheezy humor between some of the captains of the Shinsengumi.
The entire story line could have been played out in like 10 episodes, even a lot of the main plot was repetitive. There's a couple random plots towards the end of the show that aren't even explained about ghosts and curses, and some American guy with a gun...Really the show doesn't get interesting till the very end, but there's one big fight, barely anything is really resolved, and the show's over...
Great just what I wanted to hear when I just started reading this. :), i hope the manga is better?

Are you reading Shinsengumi Immon Peacemaker or Peace Maker Kurogane (there's 2 parts to the manga I beleiveXD)??? (I haven't read either)
Either way I think the story line would probably flow smoother in the manga version, so don't fret just yetXD I've also heard the anime is a *squashed version of the mangaXD So there's hope^.^
