My Grades: Animation: 8/10 Story: 6/10 Characters: 7/10
Summary:
The main character of the story, Kantarou, ever since his childhood has had the ability to see monsters. Unfortunalty because of this other kids were always picking on him because they said monsters didn't exsist. Kantarou learns about a powerfull ehh being called the demon eating tengu that was sealed away. He decides to make his life goal to find this tengu, that this will make him a stronger person.
Kantarou gets an education and becomes a professional Folklorist that writes ghost stories for a local publishing company. But during his free time he is an exorcist for extra money and in hopes he will be able to find the demon eating Tengu eventually by following rumors. Somewhere along the way he also made a friend/slave of a fox/Youkai (demon) who transforms into a woman and does all his choors O.o The way to make a demon your slave is by giving them a name, and then the follow you forever.
Anyways, Kantarou on one of his exorcist missions runs across a broken shrine/rock thing in the forest and is certain that this must be where the Demon eating tengu is sealed. He puts all his effort into breaking the seal and names the Tengu "Haruka." A nice looking guy with black wings pops out of the stone and becomes his partner/slave/friend and they fight demons together from then on BUT Kantarou makes Haruka promise never to kill them.
2/3rds of teh show are just random exocist missions and is a little slow with random side characters no one really cares about. Eventually the story deals with a plot revolving around killing Haruka and his past which is pretty good though.
This show's ok~ not the best, but there's alot of people who are fans of it. Personally it didn't have enough story development for my taste. By the time they start the show just ends=( Really teh only reason I kept watching it was becase I like the side characters
Sugino and Mu-chanXD (a weird god and his wife that is some green creature ^.^)...
Even though its never stated, there are alot of Guy X Guy vibes through out the entire show between Haruka and KantarouXD It pretty blaringly obvious~ But nothing really happens between them... except they fall asleep together at somepoint or something like that O.o
