Story: To quickly summarize, Utawarerumono is a story about a man who wakes up in a village without any memory of his past or, who he is. With no where to go, nor to return to, the village elder, Tusukuru permits him to remain with the village, under the care of her daughter until his memory returns. One day however the local magistrate comes to the village to collect taxes, yet unable to collect from the already poor people his vassal decides to take the elder's daughter instead. Already at sword point the man is unable to argue, yet from the crowd of people a stone is thrown by a little girl. The magistrate's horse is startled tossing its rider to the ground. Seeking to make an example of the little girl a sword is swung rending flesh, yet the body is not young as was intended, but old and frail. The village falls into chaos as the magistrate flees, his escorts pulled from their horses and dashed accross the bloodied ground. With the blood of Tusukuru on his hands and the annihalation of its people now on paper decree their is no turning back for the village. Unable to abandon those that have taken him in, the man too raises arms againist the magistrate, and therefore the king, setting in motion a chain of events that will with time carve the name of Hakuoro into the the lands and minds of all the peoples of this world.
Shadow warrior Chronicles!!! @_@ How is that the english titileXD I thought it meant "the one being sung of"XD
Anyways The beggining of this anime was a bit iffy~ But I liked it starting after the first few big events~ I like all the random characters^.^ (The twin archers are my favsXD, Dorii and GutaXD I even know they're names and the say like 2 things the entire show~) I would have given the story an 8.
The end was a bit... odd~

Wasn't expecting the mechas and super scientific past and the whole demon/god contract thingXD
Yeah beginning is a little bit of a turn off, but luckily it gets better as it goes. As for a tacics game they made a tactics game of it. Also the visual novel on which this was based is being translated and I'll likely post a download point when its completed. I also liked the scientific mecha ending, its just that it wasnt flushed out enough unfortunately. my only REAL gripe was that they didnt give kamyu enough air time. As for the english title, it is actually "the one being sung", but for whatever reason "shadow warrior chronicles" was constantly being pushed as the title during the whole US release process. (thank god it didnt win out....)
