Despite the name theres not much fightingXD Basically this show is about the high school lives of a bunch of students and their random problems, wich usually include normal problems like love problems, fights, grades, SEVERE missunderstandings, being phycic, life of a manga artist, animals think you're god? (ok some are realy weird problems). Most of the show is about 2 main characters, one being Tenma (you're standard flat chested, absent minded school girl) who has a crush on the weirdest kid in the class Karasuma, and the school bully Kenji who is in love with Tenma.
This show jumps all over the place, and a lot of weird really funny things happen. This is mostly comedy, but there are a lot of love triangles (although most of the relationships never develop). There are a LOT of characters in this show (especially by the second season) so you can get a little lost with names.
Characters:
Tenma: The main female role of the story. Tenma is very slow, and clueless about obvious situations, and stinks at pretty much everything, and is often mistaken for a middle schooler (despite the fact she's a second year high schooler). She has a major crush on Karasuma. Her younger sister is Yakumo, although they act and look nothing alike, but she's extrememly overprotective of her sister. She's completely clueless about Kenji's feelings towards her. Her trade mark are her pigtails that bouce when she's happy or madXD
Kenji Harima: Previously a delinguent, who was always getting in fights, never went to school, ALWAYS wears his sunglasses, and rides a motorcycle..., but he falls in love with Tenma and decides to turn his life around. He doesn't mind going to school as much if she's there. He's not very bright at can't express his emotions very well though. He eventually decides to become a manga artist in hopes one day it may make Tenma smile, and acquires alot of pet animals including a giraff. While he only loves Tenma, another classmate named Eri occasionally has feelings for him (when she doesn't want to kill him), and Tenma's younger sister Yakumo may or may not have feelings for him as well.
Karasuma: This is the guy Tenma loves. He doesn't say much, and is really weird (possibly an alien...), but she is obsessed with him. Karasuma is obsessed with curry, which he eventually admits he loves more than Tenma. He is also secretly a famous Manga artist, who even Kenji looks up to (untill he finds out who it is.)
Yakumo: Tenma's sister but the exact opposite. She's smart, patient, a good cook, and telented at everthing. She has a special ability that allow her to read the mind of any boy that has a crush on her (which is a problem becuase almost every guy in the school has a crush on her). She is constantly being chased by Hanai who has the biggest crush on her. Despite all these guys she doesn't have a crush on any of them. She's very close to her sister and is always trying to help her. She likes animals.
Well besides these characters there's Tenma's best friends, the "Pervert Club", the teachers, and tons of others~ but those are the main characters.
Overall its worth watching, its a light watch, and the story is really slow to develop. There are alot of crazy paradies from things like the matrix, starwars and other anime wich is really funny (although i still haven't caught them all) Even though this anime is random I think it made it to my top 10 favorites
